필리핀 보건부(DOH)에서 인증받은 코로나19 진단검사실 목록 (11월 17일 현재)

인간은 적응의 동물이라더니, 요즘 필리핀에서는 예전처럼 생활하는 모습을 쉽게 볼 수 있다.  코로나19가 정말 발생한 것일까 싶은 생각이 들 정도이다. 지나치게 장기화되고 있는 코로나19 격리단계 정책이 코로나19의 감염 위험성에 대한 경각심을 잃게 한 것이다. 필리핀 정부에서 경기 활성화를 위해 각종 규제를 느슨하게 한 것도 위기 불감증에 한몫했다. 하지만 필리핀의 검사현황을 보면 현재 상황에서 이렇게 방역불감증을 가져도 좋은 것일까 걱정하지 않을 수 없다.  

2020년 11월 21일 현재 코로나19 누적 진단검사수는 513만 건에 이른다. 총 검사완료수에서 결과양성(확진)이 차지하는 비율을 누적 확진율이라고 하는데, 필리핀의 코로나19 누적 확진율은 9.2%로 조사된다. 한국의 누적 확진율이 1.1%인 것과 비교해보면, 엄청나게 높은 수치이다. 게다가 필리핀 보건부의 발표를 얼마나 믿을 수 있냐의 문제도 있다. 지난 9월 필리핀의 여론조사 기관인 소셜 웨더 스테이션(SWS-Social Weather Stations)에서 '코로나19 집계 신뢰 관련 설문조사'를 한 바 있는데, 설문조사(오차범위 ±3%) 응답자 1,249명 중에서 23%만이 필리핀 정부가 발표한 코로나19 데이터를 신뢰한다고 답했다고 한다. 응답자의 31%는 필리핀 정부가 실제보다 낮게 집계하여 발표하고 있다고 생각한다는 것이다. 응답자의 교육 수준이 높을수록 코로나19 집계 발표에 대한 불신 경향을 나타낸 것으로 나타났다.

참고로 필리핀 보건부(DOH)에서는 지난 11월 12일부터 <코로나19 확진자의 중증도 분류>에 중등도(Moderate) 항목을 추가했다. 무증상(asymptomatic) 및 경증(mild) 환자는 정부의 임시 모니터링 시설에서 관리하지만, 중등도(Moderate) 이상으로 분류된 환자는 병원에 입원 조치된다. 

① 무증상 확진자 : 의식 명료 / 기저질환 없음 / 해열진통제 복용없이 체온 37.5도 미만

② 경증(Mild) : 코로나19 증상은 있으나 폐렴 증상이나 저산소증 증상은 관찰되지 않은 환자

③ 중등도(Moderate) : 호흡 곤란 등 심각하지 않은 수준의 폐렴 증상이 관찰된 환자

④ 중증(Severe) : 중중의 폐렴 및 급성호흡곤란 증후군 관련 증상이  관찰된 환자

⑤ 최중증(Critical) : 급성호흡곤란과 패혈증 등의 발생으로 의식이 떨어져서 음압중환자실에서 치료가 필요한 위중한 상태의 환자

■ 필리핀 내 코로나19 진단검사실 목록 (2020년 11월 17일 현재) 

필리핀 보건부(DOH)에서는 총 170곳의 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) RT-PCR 진단검사실에 대해 운영을 허가한 상태이다. 이중 실시간 역전사 유전자증폭법(RT-PCR법)으로 코로나19 진단검사를 하는 시설은 132개이며, 그중 45%는 메트로 마닐라 지역(61개)에 있다. 메트로 마닐라 지역 다음으로 코로나19 확진자가 많이 발생하고 있는 칼라바르손 지방에는 13개의 검사실이 운영되고 있다.
